The College University team of Mike and Andy Parker gave us a cereal-themed Flash-animation earlier this summer. They created that short for CollegeHumor.com, and now they’re back with another animated spoof. CSI: Scooby Doo merges two crime-fighting series into one two-minute short.

Since launching on YouTube about a year ago, Future Thought’s animated Crime Time series has tallied a few million views. They’ve reportedly embarked on 92 new episodes, half of which will be penned by Nassos Vakalis. He is the director of the series, but his day job finds him storyboarding on Monsters vs. Aliens - the upcoming DreamWorks animated feature. Here’s a new episode of Crime Time titled Midnight Lover.

You may recall the Nite Fite segment of The Meth Minute 39, which features two animated talk show hosts Penalty and Lloyd. The concept, which was created by Dan Meth and Mark Vitelli, has been spun off to it’s own web series. Three episodes are available for your viewing pleasure, including this one titled Sell Out.

Pascal Campion, like many of us, is headed off to Comic-con today. In honor of his departure, he created a short Flash animation, which you can see over at his website.

I’m also heading down today as well, and if anyone wants to meet up, I’ll be attending the Making Fiends panel at 5pm on Friday in room Room 7AB. I’ll be wearing my trusty brown CHF tshirt and sitting in the back right of the room. See you in San Diego!

We’ve posted probably a half-dozen of Bernard Derriman’s Big Green Rabbit shorts, but none as elaborate as Spider Monkey. This short, animated entirely in Toon Boom, provides a great example of pose-to-pose animation - and a highly entertaining one at that. Derriman injects so much personality and playfulness into his shorts, it’s no wonder his Big Green Rabbit films have been watched almost 3 million times on YouTube alone.

Back in February, we featured the cartoon collaboration between Nick Anderson, the Houston Chronicle’s editorial cartoonist, and Todd Ramsay - the man behind Honkbarn. Together they’ve been knocking out a series of Flash-animated editorial cartoons for chron.com, like this one, titled The Watchdog.
