Carpenter Lands Annie Award Nomination For Flash-Animated Film

The Annie Awards nominations were announced a few days ago, and one of my good pals, Jason Carpenter, landed a nomination. Its for his short film The Renter, which will go up against the mighty Pixar and 3 other teams and individuals for the Best Animated Short Subject award. The Renter, a 10 minute “digital paperless” film, was produced mostly in Flash, with compositing being done in After Effects and backgrounds produced in Photoshop. The short “follows the story of a young boy who is cared for by an elderly woman during the day.” The Annies are being held on February 5th, 2011 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
